Our Services

At College Park Dental, our dentists and dental team are passionate about serving our patients. We offer a wide range of dental services to keep families in Saskatoon smiling.

Dental Cleanings

During dental cleanings, our hygienists remove the hardened deposits of bacteria (calculus/tartar) that form on your teeth. These deposits cannot be removed by brushing alone; it can only be safely removed by dental professionals. The bacteria on tooth surfaces can initiate inflammation of the gums (gum disease). Gum disease can eventually lead to bone loss around teeth. As the bone that supports the teeth is lost, the teeth can become loose and require extraction. Often people do not realize they have gum disease until it has progressed to a very serious form; that’s why it is important to have dental exams and cleanings on a regular basis.

Frequent dental cleanings are one of the best ways to improve the odds of maintaining your teeth over a lifetime. The frequency of dental cleanings is customized based on how prone you are to gum disease.

Preventing and treating gum disease is important for your overall systemic health as well. Many studies have shown an association between systemic diseases, including diabetes, and gum disease.

Fillings

Fillings (restorations) are treatments that repair the damage to teeth due to decay (dental cavities) or fractures. By replacing the tooth structure lost due to disease or trauma, fillings done in a timely manner are an important way to protect the teeth.

Fillings can also be used to improve the appearance of the teeth.

Children's Dentistry

The Canadian Dental Association recommends that infants are seen by a dentist within 6 months of their first tooth becoming visible in the mouth or by one year of age. This allows for early detection of any issues. This is also helps children become comfortable in the dental office.

At College Park Dental, we offer a range of children’s dentistry, including cleanings, sealants, fillings, crowns, and extractions. We focus on creating a positive early experience, establishing a healthy long-term relationship between your child and their dental team.

Crowns and Veneers

Crowns are caps that fit over the whole tooth. They are strong covers that reduce the risk of teeth fracturing. Crowns protect teeth that have larger fillings, fractures, or have had root canals. They can also be placed to improve the appearance of teeth.

Veneers are a cosmetic treatment where a shell is made that covers the part of the tooth that is visible when you smile. They can be used to cover stains, cracks or other imperfections.

Dental Implants

with the option of moderate IV sedation

Dental implants are often the best treatment to replace missing teeth or teeth that require extraction. At College Park Dental, we offer many aspects of implant treatment, including implant placement and implant restoration (placing the tooth on top of the implant).

We also offer the option of moderate IV sedation for the implant placement.

Teeth Whitening

Our professional teeth whitening services allow you to have a brighter, whiter smile

Root Canals

Root canals are treatments to remove the inside tissues of the tooth (the pulp) when it has become diseased. Root canals are used in certain cases to treat infections or tooth aches. It is often ideal to place a crown after a root canal to reduce the risk of tooth fracture and leaking, which could compromise the root canal.

Partial Dentures

Restore the function and aesthetic of your smile with our custom-crafted Partial Dentures. Tailored to fit snugly and blend seamlessly with your existing teeth, our partial dentures provide a natural and comfortable solution to missing teeth.

Invisalign®

Invisalign allows you to straighten your teeth through a series of clear retainers. These retainers can be removed to eat or for effective oral hygiene. We offer this service by a general dentist at College Park Dental.

Extractions

(including ridge preservation) with the option of moderate IV sedation

Sometimes it is necessary to remove teeth to treat infections or for other reasons. We also offer the option of moderate IV sedation.

After teeth are extracted, there is typically bone loss at the extraction site. To slow this process down and to reduce the amount of bone lost, sometimes ridge preservation is recommended. This is a gentle procedure where donor bone is placed in the space where the tooth has been removed. At College Park Dental, we offer this treatment option when indicated. Ridge preservation is often ideal when an implant is planned to replace the missing tooth.

Wisdom Teeth Extractions

with the option of moderate IV sedation

Sometimes it is recommended to remove wisdom teeth due to infections, or to prevent future problems. Book a consult if you’d like to discuss the potential benefits of having wisdom teeth removed. We also offer the option of moderate IV sedation.

Nightguards

For people who grind or clench their teeth at night, a nightguard is often advisable. A nightguard is a protective cover that fits over the teeth. You can wear  it when asleep to reduce the pressure on your teeth, reducing tooth wear and fractures. For some people, they also reduce the symptoms of tooth grinding, including jaw pain and associated headaches.

Ideally, these are custom made through a dentist so that they fit properly and do not damage the teeth.

Sport Guards

For many sports, sport guards are an important piece of protective equipment. They are covers that fit over the teeth to protect the teeth from traumatic injuries that can occur when playing sports. This can reduce chipping and severe tooth fractures that could require root canals or even extractions. They can also reduce the shock to the jaws from traumatic jaw closures.

Ideally, these are custom-made through a dentist so that they fit properly and do not damage the teeth.

Proudly serving Saskatoon and area since 1986.
